Anti-social behaviour is a major challenge facing many social housing providers. There  is a wide range of legal and non-legal remedies which are available to providers to deal with neighbour nuisance, harassment, low level criminal activity, and also the more serious cases  where there is a need to involve other agencies. This programme is designed to provide participants with a good knowledge of these remedies, including the use of housing injunctions, possession, parenting orders, dispersal orders, and closure orders. In addition, we will look at the effectiveness of tools such as introductory and demoted tenancies, as well as examining  non-legal remedies such as mediation, preventative measures and diversionary activities.  We will consider the importance of effective caseworking, working in partnership with others, community involvement and the skills involved in deciding on action to be taken.
